The good news is that with the help of Root’s AI Health Coach, you’ll be able to conquer all of your health goals— whether you’re seeking a healthier diet, a more active lifestyle, or help managing a chronic condition.

Your AI Health Coach is here to listen, understand, and remember everything you tell it. If you’re in the grocery store and are unsure what to buy for dinner, go ahead and ask your AI Health Coach. It will recommend recipes based on the foods you enjoy, and will provide a shopping list to ensure you can easily pick up anything you need to make your home cooked meal.

Shalini Chalana, RD, MS

Shalini Chalana is Registered Dietitian Nutritionist with over 20 years of experience in the field of nutrition.  She holds a Master of Education in Nutrition and a Master of Science in Agricultural and Extension Education from The Pennsylvania State University. She has also earned a CDE Certification through the National Certification Board for Diabetes Educators.

Shalini believes in making healthy eating simple.  She is passionate about healthy cooking and teaches multiple group classes focusing on easy healthy cooking.

Currently, Shalini works full time as an outpatient dietitian for the Cambridge Health Alliance providing individual visits and diabetes shared medical appointments. In addition to this, she acts as a preceptor for dietitian students from Simmons College in Boston.

Melissa Stump, MS, RD

Melissa is a Registered Dietitian with 7 years of clinical experience. She completed her undergraduate degree and dietetic internship at the University of Delaware, and a master of science in clinical nutrition at Rutgers University. Melissa enjoys helping individuals reach short and long term goals through development of dietary strategies that integrate seamlessly into their daily routine. In her free time Melissa enjoys walking her dog, Walter, practicing yoga, cooking and reading.

Ted Katz, RD

Ted Katz is a superstar Nutrition Director for sports teams and a world class chef. He has served as the  Assistant Director of Sports Nutrition for Baylor University. Prior to  Baylor, Ted consulted with various teams and organizations including the Pittsburgh Pirates, Robert Morris University, and the University of Missouri. He has also written a cookbook.

Teddy earned his Registered Dietitian credentials from UC Davis Medical Center in 2012. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Culinary Nutrition from Johnson & Wales University in Providence.
